1900 Glass Bottle
What is Soldiering Acid, and what is it used for?
Okay me and my husband just bought a house and there was allot off old things in this house. (It was built in 1900), Anyway I was in the basement and there was a brown glass bottle, (looks very very old) on one of the shelves and all that was written on the label was/is soldiering acid. I know I can google it but hey easy 10 points right???? Well anyway looking forward to responses!

Thanks all! It seems to have no smell to it I swear it is probably 60 + years old now so wouldn't be of any good!
Soldering Acid was and still is used today for removing oxidation from Copper pipes Pryor to soldering. The pipe would then be heated to a point where the solder, when applied to the copper pipe would melt and flow into the "joint" (or connection) such as your water heater pipe fittings. This is a reliable and fast way to make a leak-proof connection.
