Could I have pulled her eye lids off?
I have a three month old ball python. I just recently discovered (or think I did) that she has eye caps, because her eyes have been foggy and silvery since she last shed. Yesterday they turned blue, and she's been sick (vet told us and we're still nursing her back to health). I started getting worried because her belly isn't pink and she just shed last month, so I highly doubt she's going into shed. I googled what the symptoms of retained eye caps were and how to get rid of them. Baby oil didn't get anything off so I used the scotch tape method, which worked for both eyes.. and her eyes are still as foggy as ever. Is it possible that she didn't have eye caps and maybe I took her eyelids instead? What would happen if I did? What could I do about it? If not, then why are her eyes still so foggy?
she is going to shed so dont worry about it. snakes dont have eye lids. you shouldnt try to get their eye caps off because this could seriously harm them and they could become blind. wait until she sheds and check the shed for eye caps. if they are there, she is fine. also if you kept her last shed, you can check the caps on that one to. good luck!
