How can I remove the metal lids of old bottles of castor oil?
I have a few bottles of castor 100 years old which have metal lids that have been stuck with what I think is a mixture of plaster of Paris. I need to know what is going to soften the mixture so that it can replace the damaged metal lids. Solution must be something that will not discolor or break bottles.
try soaking them in water and vinegar is a mild acid which must act on the Paris model, without damaging the bottle to soak a few days later try removing the cover
