Theories or opinions about colic or SIDS?

Hello. This question is for parents: After reading the latest studies and reports on colic and SIDS, "All of you parents have their own theories on the causes of birth defects or what might prevent these disasters? Only in the last two years, doctors have begun to suggest that mothers bring their babies to sleep on the back and that somehow the lollipop (not sure how it) reduces the risk of SIDS babies. What do you think? And also, there no "cure" for colic, but there is great number of hypotheses "treatment" that "gas drops and such? You have found these treatments work colicy for your baby / child?
