Pontil Bottle
How can I tell if an antique cranberry red blown glass bottle is plated or red across the road?
Obviously, not I want to scratch the surface to see if it could reveal the clear glass underneath. The pontil is polished, and I think that polishing glass transparent, it would be true if We have been clear. However, there is nothing but red. Please tell me if there is a definitive manner, without damaging the glass.
There is no way, without damaging Looking Glass to the upper and lower lip and turn on the bull with the bright light behind it can see a band of light when it shone, but if all C is seeing red through and through so I watch out for their brilliance not, is there a reason why you want to know? either cranberry glass is so very precious (gold color used to get the cranberry)
