Can someone tell me the difference between brandy and cognac?

I discovered that I have a deep love and fulfillment good cognac. Amber red color, aroma, flavor and sweetness sublime. (AHH!) Courvoussier drank. Do you have suggestions for other brands for me to try? It's okay if your face, you get what you pay for, after all.

If tests of the water of life, I would go with Armagnac instead. Waters are often cheaply made. As for brandy, everyone drinks here in Detroit Hennessey, including me. I was lucky XO have a couple of times and it's unbelievable. Choose Hennesey on couvoussier and Martell and Remy. The new Noblige trash, do not waste your money. So not worth spending $ 100 on a bottle that looks like enough. (The inventor of Martell - your name - Jersey was a smuggler who stop at the smuggling of brandy)
