old violin? try to assess the value (only general no absolute estimate necessary, not to sell ..)?
inside paper label, Ernst Heinrich Roth said in large letters at the top fantasy. He also said anno 19_ (21 writtin in ink space) below the copy says: Josef Guarneri I guess that means it is a copy of a Guarneri violin josef, but because it is an old Roth, Im wondering what is the approximate value where it is. Ive seen copies of Josef quarnerious least as much as U.S. $ 8000 and Roth as low as $ 2000. is old and make my violin has an important role in its value? or is it a scam the mill ....
Age of the violin is very important. I bought my violin for $ 1500, after some negotiations. Eight years later, its value at least $ 2000. The age indicates the time that the violin was played. The more you play the violin, and the driest wood violin has a better sound. It is not possible to assess the value unless you here the sound of the violin, or see the scratches. I guess its made in Germany of writing is German, so the worksmanship should be good enough. All I know is that it must be worth over $ 2000.
